Daily Life at the Retreat

Come as a holidaying helper and join in

Throughout the year by arrangement, except July and August

 

An opportunity to just come along and experience the daily rhythm at the Retreat when there is no other event here.

You'll be asked to play your part in general household tasks, cleaning, cooking etc.as well as doing a little maintenance work, painting or working on the land. A minimum of 2 hours/day is all that is asked, although if you want to do more no one will stop you!

You'll also have plenty of time for yourself.. The location is beautiful and there are opportunities for delightful walks right from the front door, or you might choose to just lounge by the pool of course.

The daily rhythm when there are no events is relaxed, although there are some fixed points:

· 9.45 am Morning meeting: a personal check in and discussion of the days practicalities.

· 3.00pm - 4.30pm Quiet time: Reflect, Sleep, Work, do as you please but without talking or creating unnecessary noise.

· Dinner: Usually around 8.00pm

Make your own breakfast when you want it, lunch is often a spontaneous affair.

You'll get the opportunity to go into the local town doing routine shopping, more exotic excursions to the beach, a mountain village or Granada are also usually possible (for which there is a charge)

£14/day + Food at cost kitty (allow £7/day)

Accomodation is in a shared room. It is important you are fit and active and able to do light maintenance tasks. Min stay 6 days.
