Ryanair have currently ceased flying to Granada Airport so much of this page is now redundant. However it is left up temporarily as the information regarding bus times is currently (march 2010) believed to be valid.
First you will need to find a flight to Granada, (also called Granada - Jaen airport) if you are coming from the UK, you can fly direct with Ryanair from either London Stansted or Liverpool airports. In 2010 there are no flights from the UK into Granada on a Saturday although there are on a Sunday. Here is a link to the Ryanair web site .
You have a choice of ways to travel between the airport and the Retreat. The easiest is to be met at the airport, this is usually possible by prior arrangement, the charge is £25 per journey. Or you might wish to hire your own car, or make the connection by bus. Details for the bus journey are given below. Some flights arrive and depart late in the evening and for those the pick up service at £25 per journey or car hire are the only option.
Once you land at Granada you will need to take the airport shuttle coach to the Bus Station. The coach runs every hour and is usually timed to leave for the city at an appropriate time after each flight arrival. As you come out through the sliding doors of baggage reclaim, into the entrance hall turn to your right and go out through the doors at the end. The coach stops outside immediately to your left. You will want a ticket to travel to the bus station (Estacion de Autobuses). The shuttle takes 45mins. The fare is around 3 Euro
Upon arrival at the bus station you will need to buy a ticket to travel to Orgiva, the bus timetables (as of Jan 2010) are reproduced below. To check if they are still current use this link.
Once you get to Orgiva you can by pre arrangement be collected at the bus stop.
If you wish to hire a car, please consider a company which is good value and pays the Retreat a small commission if you book through this link.
If you are interested in car sharing or offering a lift please mention this in the space at the foot of the booking form.
If you are having difficulty with your travel arrangements and need help or advice,
